Since it is quite hard to sum up a year of outfits in only one picture, here is the second part of the outfits I’ve been showing on the blog during the past year. Of course, I couldn’t feature them all, but for those who haven’t seen them all yet, you can always click here to do so. Obviously, before moving on to the year to come, I want to thank all the readers of StyleGlitch, even though I know there are lots of you guys, (a lot more than I expected in the first place, that’s for sure) which is something I’m very grateful for. So again, Thank you! Now, the pictures:
Today, as I was sitting on my couch after a gruelling day at work, I received a notification from WordPress wishing me a happy first anniversary on the blog and then, it hit me: flashbacks from when I started this blog a year ago, in my tiny bedroom, posting about Instagram pictures and Camo print flats from Zara (that I’m still wearing, for those who were wondering!) It got me thinking of how far I’ve come since then… I left the tiny moldy apartment, moved into a big new condo that we had built according to our taste, got a new job and a promotion, started planning our wedding and I could go on and on… For the first time in quite a while, I realised that I have it pretty good these days, even though I may not always notice it in my day-to-day life. Which is probably why we celebrate anniversaries anyway, just to take the time to remember the good moments and to analyse the bad ones. Speaking of memories, I think the best way to celebrate the first year anniversary of a fashion blog (after eating cupcakes) is remembering all the looks that were worn in the said year. So here we are, contemplating a year of style, according to StyleGlitch.
The past weeks have been a long, smooth transition into a new season… Yes, it’s officially Fall and as much as I love the warmth of Summer, this year’s have been so disappointing that I’m definitely looking forward to the season of light coats and killer layering! Yesterday, for a day filled with brunch with my fiancé and late dinner with both our families, I embraced the cooler weather with my favorite pair of black studded jeans, a t-shirt featuring a cute little pup, and a jacket from Zara, paired with my adored suede sandals from Stuart Weitzman.
When my fiancé and I were friends, a couple of years ago, we used to spend nights with friends having vodka-fueled conversations that inevitably led to one subject: What would we be if we were an animal. Turns out, I always ended up a black panther, as voted by everyone but myself. Over the years, it became one of my favorite animals, so anyone can imagine my joy when I found this top with 2 black panthers on the sleeves while shopping with my sister. I ended up wearing it with a belt as a peplum top, but it also looks amazing with simple leggings and boots.
Since we moved away from downtown Montreal, I find myself enjoying the silence and fresh air more than I ever thought I could. Even though I have to admit I sometimes miss waking up to the sound of horns and angry people screaming outside my window, it somehow feels great to just sit back and relax on my balcony, looking at the trees. I’m not saying I’ve evolved into a macramé-wearing specimen, (I’m still holding on to my high heels and wearing my weird looks to the supermarket, even though they are more likely to get noticed here) but I do love the laid-back style I can allow myself to have here, choosing whether or not I want to be in the middle of the action, or just hidden in the country, reading Vogue with a cup of coffee…
